HLx5 needles are the flat-shank, high-speed needle system used by the Juki TL series, Brother PQ series, Janome 1600P and similar straight-stitch quilting machines. They have a stronger blade and a sharp point for high-speed piecing and quilting through layers.

The 130/705 H system (also written 15x1 or HAx1) is the flat-shank household needle used by almost every domestic sewing and embroidery machine. Titanium-coated needles stay sharp several times longer than plain steel at embroidery and quilting speeds.

Use for: Juki TL, Brother PQ, Janome 1600P and other machines that specify HLx5.

Do not substitute a standard 130/705 needle; the HLx5 shank and length are what the machine is timed for.
