What this part does

The needle bar is the vertical shaft that carries the needle clamp and moves the needle up and down. It is replaced after a bent bar from a jam, or when the clamp mount is damaged.

Specifications

How to tell if this is the right one

Match by the model list exactly. Needle bars differ in length, diameter and the position of the clamp mount, and the height is set during installation.

Signs you need this part

The needle hits the plate or hook at one side, the bar is visibly bent, or the needle clamp will not tighten.

Fitting it

Replacing a needle bar requires re-setting the needle bar height and hook timing. Unless you are comfortable with this, have it fitted by a technician.
