What this part does

The sewing light bulb lights the needle area. Machines use several bases — bayonet (push and twist), screw-in (E12 candelabra or E14) and push-in wedge — in 6 V, 12 V or mains voltage, and the base and voltage both have to match.

How to tell if this is the right one

Match the base type and the voltage stated. Fitting a mains bulb in a 12 V socket, or the reverse, will either not light or will fail immediately.

Fitting it

Unplug the machine and let the old bulb cool. Bayonet: push in and twist counterclockwise. Screw: unscrew. Wedge: pull straight out.
