Bobbin Winder for Pfaff 338, 481, 483, 1053, 1183 and 1 more. Compatible aftermarket part. Fitment is taken from the distributor's listing; models not named are not claimed.
If your Pfaff needs a new bobbin winder, this is the part listed for the Pfaff 338, 481, 483, 1053, 1183 and 1245. This is a compatible replacement part rather than a manufacturer-original part.
This list comes from the distributor's listing for this part. If your model is not named, do not assume it fits — check the part you are removing against the specification below, or ask us with your model number before ordering.
What this part does
The bobbin winder is the spindle-and-wheel assembly, usually on the top or right of the machine, that spins an empty bobbin against the drive to fill it. The rubber tire on the winder wheel hardens and cracks with age, and the stop latch that halts winding when the bobbin is full wears.

How to tell if this is the right one
Match by the model list. Winder assemblies differ in spindle diameter, tire size and how the stop arm mounts.
Signs you need this part
The bobbin will not spin, spins but slips, winds unevenly or will not stop when full. If the winder spins but the bobbin does not, the tire alone may be the fix.
Fitting it
Most winders are held by one or two screws from the top cover. Note the position of the stop arm before removal.
Questions about this part
Does this bobbin winder fit the Pfaff 338?
Yes. The Pfaff 338 is on the distributor's fitment list for this part, along with 481, 483, 1053, 1183 and 1245. If your model is not listed on this page, send us the model number and we will check before you order.
Is this the original Pfaff part?
No — it is a compatible aftermarket part made to fit the models listed. It is not a manufacturer-original part.
Do I need the whole winder or just the rubber tire?
If the spindle turns but slips against the drive, the tire is the usual fault. If the spindle itself is loose or the stop does not work, replace the assembly.
