Replacement bobbin for Baby Lock BLJ18. The fitment below is taken from the distributor's own listing for this part.
This list comes from the distributor's listing for this part. If your model is not named, do not assume it fits — check the part you are removing against the specification below, or ask us with your model number before ordering.
What this part does
The bobbin is the small spool that holds the lower thread. The needle thread loops around the bobbin thread on every stitch, so the bobbin's class, diameter and height have to match the bobbin case or hook the machine was built with. A bobbin that is a fraction of a millimeter too tall or too wide will bind, rattle or feed unevenly.

How to tell if this is the right one
Bobbins are matched by class, not by brand name. Check your manual or the bobbin that came with the machine: class 15 (about 20 mm across and 11.5 mm tall) and class 66 (about 20 mm across and 9.5 mm tall) are the two most common household sizes, and plastic and metal versions of the same class are not always interchangeable in a given machine. If the listing names your machine model, that is the fitment Brewer records for it; if it only names a class, compare it with the bobbin you are replacing.
Signs you need this part
Thread nests under the fabric, clicking from the bobbin area, the bobbin spins on after you stop, or the bobbin will not seat flat in the case. Dented, cracked or burred bobbins should be discarded — they chew thread.
Fitting it
Wind bobbins evenly and not past the rim. Drop-in machines usually load with the thread coming off counter-clockwise; front-loading cases usually take it clockwise. Check the diagram on your machine or in the manual.
Questions about this part
Does this bobbin fit the Baby Lock BLJ18?
Yes. The Baby Lock BLJ18 is on the distributor's fitment list for this part. If your model is not listed on this page, send us the model number and we will check before you order.
Is this the original Baby Lock part?
It is listed by our distributor under the Babylock brand name. We describe every part exactly as the distributor lists it and make no claim beyond that.
Can I use a plastic bobbin instead of a metal one?
Only if your machine is specified for it. Some machines with magnetic or sensor-based bobbin detection need the material they shipped with. If the listing names your model, the material shown is the one recorded for that machine.
How do I find my bobbin class?
Measure the bobbin you have: class 15 is about 20 mm across and 11.5 mm tall; class 66 is about 20 mm across and 9.5 mm tall; L-style bobbins are about 20 mm across and 9 mm tall. Your manual will also state it.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are dispatched from our distributor's US warehouse. We do not hold stock ourselves and cannot promise same-day dispatch; current delivery estimates are shown at checkout, and we will email you if an item is back-ordered.
