Bobbin Cover Plate for Singer C440 – Legacy

This is a replacement bobbin cover plate listed by our distributor for the Singer C440.

This list comes from the distributor's listing for this part. If your model is not named, do not assume it fits — check the part you are removing against the specification below, or ask us with your model number before ordering.

What this part does

The bobbin cover plate is the clear or metal slide that covers the drop-in bobbin on a top-loading machine. It keeps the bobbin seated, keeps lint out of the hook and gives the fabric a smooth surface to pass over. It is the most frequently lost and cracked piece on a household machine.

Specifications

How to tell if this is the right one

Cover plates are shaped to the needle-plate opening of specific models. Use the model list; a plate from a different model may be a few millimeters off and will not latch.

Signs you need this part

Cracked, missing, scratched enough to snag fabric, or no longer clicks into place.

Fitting it

Press the release button or slide the plate forward and lift. Fit the new plate rear edge first and press down until it clicks.
