What this part does
The bobbin cover plate is the clear or metal slide that covers the drop-in bobbin on a top-loading machine. It keeps the bobbin seated, keeps lint out of the hook and gives the fabric a smooth surface to pass over. It is the most frequently lost and cracked piece on a household machine.
